Chris & Katherine are an amazing couple that just loosened up the more and more we shook them and were really good fun to photograph all day long. Not only that, but their wedding at the gorgeous Priory Cottages at Syningthwaite near Wetherby was also given some additional beautification by our favourite Leafy girls at Leafy Couture. Like we said… dream team!

Katherine’s dress oozed Katherine’s personality even when she wasn’t wearing it. It was an excellent choice and looked gorgeous.

Over at Cottage #2…

The Priory is a stunning venue and certainly isn’t short of spots for great portraits. We decided not to use the archway for their engagement shoot so we could use it for their wedding portraits, no doubles here.We won’t mention the multiple attempts at the bouquet toss!

Loved. Every. Second.

Sometimes the weather conspires entirely against us on some shoots. Marianne and Chris’s was one such shoot. We had spent ages planning some really fun things for their shoot, driving out into the hills in Ditzy their prized VW van, and getting some gloriously lit portraits with the sun glinting off the chrome. What we ended up with was thick blobby rain and hail that lasted all day. Unperturbed, we shot their entire engagement shoot inside their VW camper which although required some body contortion was a whole lot of fun!

Unique Bride is a new wedding magazine that we think a lot of our couples would no doubt enjoy. It’s not for your run-of-the-mill wedding and features a lot of ideas that cater for people that think outside of the traditional box when it comes to their own wedding and we really do think it’s worth your £2.95 this month.

Their family had come from some far reaches of the globe so we’re proud to be able to capture their day for those that could make it and share it with those that couldn’t. Enjoy.

 

Lauren and Sam are having their bash at one of our favourite venues, East Keswick Village Hall in the near future. It’s going to be a fun one!

Engagement sessions are all about 90% awkwardness and a final 10% of everything you’ve learned coming together at the very end where you’ve totally relaxed as couple, worn yourselves out laughing at each other (and us) and you make some really beautiful images that say something about you as a couple.  Yes, the awkward bits are….well, awkward (in a nervous belly laugh kinda way, not in a pregnant silence on a first date kinda way)… but that’s the benefit of the engagement shoot and we always prep you for it. Wouldn’t you rather get the awkward bit out of the way a month before your wedding rather than leave it to your wedding day? When you’ve got into that 10% zone, you’ll know it and all of a sudden you’ll be smooching up together and romancing the camera faster than we can keep up. That’s when the engagement shoot has done it’s job.

Chris and Katherine’s engagement shoot was a joy. It was a shoot filled with laughter, sun and frolics in fields in the backdrop of The Priory. These two are going to rock their wedding photos!
